TiGER Dazzles with his New Single ‘Chameleon’ — Out 6 February 2026

Auckland-based Alternative Soul artist TiGER dives into ‘Chameleon,’ a lesson in aposematism: A rule in nature in which the more beautiful something or someone is, the more fatal. This Siren of Soul recalls his near miss with danger itself, discovers his ability to shapeshift, and shatters the rose-tinted glass. Fusing the soulful warmth of R&B with the intimacy of jazz and the atmospheric depth of an alternative cinematic production, ‘Chameleon; serves as the opening track to his forthcoming debut album.

‘Chameleon’ is proudly funded by NZ On Air and will be released under Timeless Records, a rising independent label dedicated to elevating innovative Artists in Aotearoa.

‘Chameleon’ is set for the rapids on the 6th of February 2026 on all major platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, accompanied by a stunning music video shot by Tiago Kerber at the mysterious Piha Beach.

Produced by Bray Jeffrey and engineered by Rawiri Waters, ‘Chameleon’ takes listeners on a mesmerising journey, confronting one of TiGER’s most personal narratives to date.

‘Chameleon’ explores the experience of being young, and unaware of the darker truths unfolding under the surface. The song reflects on a relationship that not only fractured through betrayal, but ultimately revealed a person capable of serious harm. The chaotic contrast between the roses and violets of TiGER’s devotion against the sobering reality of being with a dangerous boy, brings together a very Un-Disney Beauty and the Beast. The shock of that revelation — and the hindsight clarity that follows — forms the core emotional backbone of the track.

“I was naive, and he wasn’t. He conveniently found somebody new…so after, I lived promiscuously, using men to shapeshift into the very boy that wounded me. Until, the guy he left me for told me that he had been assaulted by him in various ways. I was shocked, but after thinking about it…I wasn’t.” TiGER comments.

The accompanying music video, directed and shot by Tiago Kerber, visually expands the themes of vulnerability, illusion, and transformation, bringing TiGER’s story to life through bold imagery and a cinematic palette. The location is none other than the infamous Piha Beach – known for its rugged beauty and danger. Captured on super 8 film during the golden hour, this work of art has that vintage quality that oozes authenticity and drama.

As the opening track of his in-progress album, ‘Chameleon’ signals an evocative era focused on TiGER’s past — one defined by sonic and visual grandeur.
