Today’s Video of the Day highlights Lola, an electro-dark-pop vocalist/producer who crafts a sonic and visual experience uniquely her own.
Lola shares a live performance video of her latest track ‘Portal’. Initially released early April, the Tāmaki Makaurau based artist has been embraced by alternative radio across the motu.
Filmed at Drake Street Studio (Bigpop Studios), Lola performs alongside ‘Portal’ co-producer Carly Gill (half of electronic-duo Kédu Carlö) and Tia (Erny Belle, Marlin’s Dreaming & Benee).
Lola’s collaborators showcase ancient instruments: Carly on the ancient Egyptian goblet drum, Doumbek, and Tia on the sitar, a mediaeval plucked stringed instrument from the Indian subcontinent.
