“When I first heard it, it resonated with me right away, with the lyrics talking about being away from his mother and how he is longing to see her again. Like Tui Teka, I too have had to sacrifice being away from my own mother, living my life as a musician. The song begins with an audio of my mother’s birthday message to me on my 30th birthday which she could not be with me on due to COVID restrictions and with Mother’s Day coming up, I felt it was only right to cover this classic and dedicate it to my mother for all she has done for me.” – Swiss.
