MusicLaw - Free Legal Advice Service

Since 2003, the Music Commission has provided a free legal advice service called MusicLaw.

You can book a free one-off lawyer consultation if you are a New Zealand musician or in the local music industry and require legal advice.

Each consultation is up to 30 minutes free of charge. Please note, if you require further advice, you can organise this directly with the lawyer and it will need to be paid for at your own expense.

Please provide us with a brief description of what you’d like advice about and a contact phone number. We’ll then pass your request to a lawyer to set up a time.

We generally use the services of the good folk at Dominion Law. If they are representing the other party for the contract, or you’d like to speak with someone else, please just let us know and we can organise another law firm to speak with.
